Knighton - Tref y Clawdd

'The Town On The Dyke'.

K-TyC Scenery

Welcome to a town with two names : 'Knighton' in English, named for a "settlement of Knights", and 'Tref y Clawdd' in Welsh, meaning "the town on the dyke". And on the dyke is where it sits. On Offa's Dyke, to be precise, straddling the ancient border of Wales and England.

This quiet, unassuming town spends its time half-hidden by the hills rising from the floor of the lush Teme valley. This is where the old Kingdom of Powys meets the English county of Shropshire. A place where trees outnumber people, and where time seems to stand still...

Best known today as the mid point of the Offa's Dyke Path National Trail, K-TyC is also the starting point for Glyndwr's Way, and a focal point for the walking & hiking communities.
